The Plaka Bridge, over Arachthos River, was the biggest stone one-curve span in Greece and the Balkans, and the third biggest one-curve stone extension in Europe. Its stone curve measured 40 meters and bended gloriously over the stream, 21 meters over the water. Developed by Constantinos Bekas in 1866, after two unsuccessful endeavors by different manufacturers, the extension remained for a long time surviving German bombings amid the Second World War just to be guaranteed by a glimmer surge in February 2015. It was viewed as one of the area's most vital milestones.
